Digital Membership Cards

This month we are introducing digital membership cards, a convenient and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic cards.

Digital membership cards provide quick links to the Member login—where you can register for events—the ROM website, contact information, and Museum hours. Plus, you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card when you visit the Museum as you can just scan your digital card on your phone at the entrance.

Digital membership cards will initially roll out to new and renewing Members, with a full rollout to all Members later in 2023.

Digital membership cards can be downloaded and saved to your smartphone. Going digital means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card again and as well, it is more environmentally friendly.

After joining or renewing your ROM membership, you will receive an email within 2-3 weeks with a link to download your card. You do not have to wait for your digital membership card to begin enjoying the Museum. Simply go online and reserve your Member tickets using the email and password you set up to purchase or renew your membership. Android users need to make sure Google Wallet (also known as Google Pay or Gpay) is installed. We also recommend having the WalletPasses app installed as the preferred app to view your digital membership card.

Both primary and secondary cardholders are listed on your digital membership card. Please follow the steps below to share your digital membership card with the second cardholder named on your membership.

For memberships with two named cardholders, digital membership cards are issued with both cardholder names.

We are in the process of rolling out digital membership cards. Your new digital membership card will be available when you renew or upgrade your current membership.

Unfortunately, we cannot generate digital membership cards for add-on guests or Caregivers at this time. Please reserve tickets for your Caregiver and children online and have your Caregiver present their tickets along with ID at the entrance.

When it is time for you to renew your membership, if you wish, you can request to receive a printed membership card in addition to your digital card. To reduce our use of plastic, membership cards will be printed on recyclable cardstock, and may take three to four weeks to arrive by mail.
